Radon Testing

About Radon
Did you know that exposure to radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer, and lung cancer deaths, in the US behind smoking? For more info see here.
Living in the northeastern portion of the United States, we often will find elevated radon gas levels in homes. Radon is an odorless, colorless, and radioactive byproduct of natural soil decay which has been known to increase the risk of cancer of those exposed. A short-term test to determine if there are any elevated levels of radon gas present in the home/building according to EPA standards. As radon levels can change over time, periodic testing/retesting is recommended.
How do we test for radon?
Radon In Air Test
We use professional radon testing equipment that takes air samples in the subject property under closed house conditions for a minimum of 48 hours. After the test is completed the results will be sent to your email.

Radon In Water Test
When a house has private water supply, also known as well water, testing for radon in the water supply can be performed. The concern with radon in drinking water does not come from drinking it, but is primarily associated with showering, laundry, and other household uses that transfer radon to indoor air.
We will take a water sample of the water supply at the property and send it to a certified laboratory. Results will then be emailed after the lab has analyzed the water sample.
